Michael Haas, from Germany, has travelled extensively in Thailand, the Philippines, Australia, Japan, Egypt, Morocco and Indonesia. I love rock climbing and hiking and diving. With these passions came the desire to keep something that lasts longer than fading memories. He picked up photography and video. He started diving in Germany, many years ago in the cold Starnberg Lake South of Munic. Since then he dove in Egypt (off Hurghada, Sharm el Sheik e.g.), the Philippines (Mindoro, Palawan e.g.), Thailand (the Similans), Bali (Mimpang, Tulamben, Menjangan, Padangbai), Japan (Ice Diving in Northern Hokkaido Utoro), Australia (the Great Barrier Reef). Michael has been a diving instructor for more than ten years. He loves diving. When customers have a deep relationship with nature they will surely enjoy the underwater world.
He loves good conversation and people who try to be open for the wonders of the world and try to see their own prejudices. Seeing oneself can ease prejudices extremely.
He practices yoga every morning which seems to be good for relaxation when diving (in currents off Nusa Penida or Mimpang, or be on a deep dive) or helps to keep confidence when doing a long hike (to the peak of Gunung Rinjani e.g.).
Places where he wants to go some day: Tibet with Mount Kailash, Galapagos, Irian Jaya, the Amazon, Aconcagua, Monte Rosa, Mont Blanc, India.
He has been living most of the time in Bali. He is based in Bali. But he is open for the adventures in the rainforest, in the blue seas with sharks and sun fish, on Balinese and other volcanoes.
He is especially interested in environmental issues. Protecting mother EARTH, mother SEA is in our biggest interest. Even if some of us don´t know it. Michael is a vegetarian. He states this is a good way to express love for animals, to reduce one´s carbon foot print and to be peaceful.
